About Me

My Story

A Counseling Psychologist & Life Coach

I am someone who has always been driven to help individuals reach their highest level of productivity. However, “being productive” for me was initially only limited to the space of work or studies as these are the areas where one needs to deliver results that can be easily quantified, until a major life event transformed my perspective.

I had an accident, after which I had to restart my life from scratch to even attain some semblance of “normalcy”. During recovery, I noticed that all attention was only being paid to the biological aberrations I was experiencing , the aspects that medicine could tangibly cure. But, my mental health was completely neglected as my functioning was declared ‘somewhat normal’, and therefore not worthy of further medical investment. Consequently, I started believing that I must be overthinking it, and delegitimized my mental anguish .

The importance of catering to mental health, however, became even more evident, when a close family member went through a similar experience as I did. Seeing him struggle with the aftermath of injuries he suffered, moreover watching the entire family feeling helpless while dealing with their own emotions, gave me the push I needed to not disregard one’s feelings as unworthy of attention.

That’s when a desire to help people attain a state of self-awareness when dealing with their emotions became stronger than ever.

I pursued my studies to become a counselling psychologist, wherein I was trained clinically in reputed hospitals of Delhi, working closely with clients suffering from various psychological disorders. With a concrete desire to work closely with adolescents, I transitioned to working as a school counsellor, where I moved beyond academic stress, focussing instead on working at a fundamental level with students and with their families to aid personal growth and conducive environment at home. Simultaneously, I also started my private practice and then shifted to full time private practise in April 2021. I was fortunate to be able to work with around 7000 plus individuals in individual, couple and family settings; was able to contribute and took 1000+ consultations in the pandemic at a sliding scale.

I followed this up with my certification to become a life coach, in order to enable people to bring a shift in their mindset, to remove perceived mental blocks to their success and be more focused on the journey rather than the destination itself, through which they actualize their hidden potential. These individuals ended up increasing their productivity at school (students) and work, developed an objective outlook towards their lives, fostering great interpersonal relationships and also forged conducive relationships with themselves. I am on a mission to reach out to as many individuals as I can and facilitate them in realising their inherent potential to the highest degree possible.

My Approach towards Holistic Healing

I follow an Integrated Approach to facilitate a holistic healing process. It involves the following:

Theory

This is an eclectic approach wherein I draw ideas from Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Existential Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Narrative Analysis and Emotion-based Therapy.

Lifestyle

I implore my clients to pay close attention to their lifestyle habits such as nutrition, daily exposure to sunlight, exercise, hydration, and sleep to gain  a better understanding of their routine and eliminate physical stressors.

Breathwork

Practicing breathing exercises just 5 minutes a day helps one process their emotions better.

Mindfulness

One can choose from various exercises to execute  this; it enables one to be more aware of their bodies, their reactions, and better understand their environment, which further facilitates them to prioritize responding rather than impulsive reacting.

Support System

With the permission of the client, I like to involve their primary support system, which includes family and friends, so that the client has accountability partners and social support throughout their healing journey.
